The Orchard Farm Cottages
The Orchard Farm Cottages are located in the heart of the Elephant Coast region of KwaZulu Natal, on a farm 1km outside of the well known agricultural and tourism hub of Hluhluwe village .
Hluhluwe is ideally situated to explore the nearby Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game reserve, ( 10 minutes drive ) and offers a convenient base for day trips south to St.Lucia / Cape Vidal or north to Sodwana Bay / Mkuzi Game Reserve.
The cottages are situated on a game fenced sanctuary borderd by the Ngweni River. A portion of the farm has been set aside for the cultivation of mango's and also accommodates the world renowned Ilala Basket Weavers factory, which includes a Zulu Artifacts Museum, Crafters Village Art Gallery and an la carte restaurant .
There are currently 1500 Mango trees on 8 acres of land directly behind the cottages, between 3 and 8 years old. The main cultivar, which is harvested from December to February, is Tommy Atkins .
