You can Browse through our gallery and warehouse where you will find the largest collection of traditional Zulu Baskets in the World and as well as Zulu Beadwork, locally woven Lamps and shades, floor rugs and hand painted fabrics. We also have a Zulu Cultural Museum and Thembalethu Craft Village.
Emdoneni Lodge Cheetah And Serval Project (± 20km)
Visit the rehab centre for orphaned and injured cheetah, serval cats, caracal and African wild cats. Learn about these animals and see them close up. There are daily feeding sessions as well as an educational talk and tour.

There are no credit card facilities at the entrance gate. Please remember to take cash. The park has a number of picnic facilities with basic ablutions. Hilltop Camp offers spectacular Views and an A la Carte restaurant with buffet breakfast and Sunday lunches. Well worth a visit even if only for a cup of tea on the terrace. The gates are open from 6am till 6pm in the winter (1April to end Aug) and 5am till 7pm in the summer (1st Sept to End March)

June to November. Boat based whale watching when humpback whale can be seen on their migration routebetween Madagascar and the Antarctic. The Advatage Charter in St Lucia is a legal permit holder to do boat based whale watching from as close as 50m, 2hr long tours include a full educational talk about these gigantic mammals. Whales can also be spotted along the shoreline at St Lucia and Cape Vidal.

The reserve boasts not only a substantial (now rare) sand forest, but also encompasses the Inhlonhlela and Insumo pans. The reserve has 100km of tourist roads as well as several picnic sites and six hides. Guided day/night game drives are offered as well as curio shop, swimming pool and restaurant facilities.

Surrounding the most pristine lake system on the South African coast, this reserve is home to a large variety of birds and animals including hippos and crocodiles. Picnic facilities and boat launch access is available from the third lake. A sand track leading to the mouth offers spectacular views of the lakes and the traditional fish kraals in lake one. Snorkeling is a popular activity in this area 4 X 4 vechiles are recommended when visiting the mouth. Supplies are available at the trading town, Manguzi.

Part of St Lucia Lake, False Bay has a variety of habitats such as sand forest, thornveld and open savannah, providing excellent bird watching and game viewing opportunities when taking one of the self guided trails. Boating facilities and the reputation for excellent fishing make this a popular day visitor destination. This part of the lake has been dry for the last 5 years as a result of a prolonged drought reputing in half the average annual rainfall. The park also contains important marine fossils of both animals and coral, which can be viewed in the interpretive centre. Facilities include picnic sites, ablutions and Craft shop with basic supplies.

This remote park, deep in an area of sand forests, pans and wetlands in Northern Tongaland lies on the border between KwaZulu Natal and Mozambique. Tembe is a special place with basic day visitors facilities, only a limited amount of vehicles are allowed into the park and these must be 4X4’s to negotiate the sand tracks that form the road network. Close by on the tourist route is Mahlasela and Ponweni hides, as well as a picnic area at Manungu, offerering a spectacular panoramic view from Gowanini viewing tower. Lions have recently been reintroduced to the area.

Cape Vidal is renowned for its sport fishing and snorkelling. Golden beaches, coastal forests and clear blue ocean vistas form idyllic settings for hiking. Mission Rocks, a few kilometres South, provides visitors with hours of fascinating exploration in the rock pools, not to mentioned being a firm favourite spot for off shore fishing. Turtle tours are conducted from November to January at night and whales can be spotted from the shoreline during the winter months. Facilities include, craft shop with basic supplies (ice and fuel)

Best known for it’s bird life, Ndumo boasts many beautiful pans set about with yellow fever trees, extensive wetlands and reedbeds, as well as savannah and sand forest. A special attraction to the reserve includes many tropical East African birds at the southern limit of their range. The reserve is open for self-drive game viewing as well as guided tours and for the more energetic, day walks may be taken in the company of a guide. Ndumo is of a particular interest to Entomologist for its array of insect species.

Bordering on the lake is the KZN Wildlife managed Phongolo Nature Reserve who welcomes day visitors for self-drive and boat launching access. Facilities are basic with picnic sites and ablutions at the camping grounds. Entrance in through the Golela area. Lake Jozini is fast becoming on the prime Tiger fishing destinations in Southern Africa. One of the special features of Lake Jozini is that you can game view from your boat.
Visitors can see loggerhead and leatherback turtles nesting on beaches by joining a night turtle tour from mid November to January. Not much known about these creatures and what we do know has been from research conducted on their annual return to our beaches in summer to lay their eggs.
